To print a configuration page from an MP 3500 or MP 4500 (including page count, toner level, network settings, and other data):
- Press User Tools/Counter
- Select Printer Features
- Select Configuration Page
If "Printer Features" does not show up as an option in User Tools on your copier, either your copier doesn't have the printer option installed, or the copier was recently turned on -- sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for the printer, scanner, and fax functions to load. Exit out of User Tools, wait a minute or two, then go back in.

ReplyDeleteThere are several things that could cause the MP C4500 to not load black toner, including a bad toner end sensor, a bad toner pump, a clogged hose, a bad black DV unit, or even just a bad toner bottle. It's best to have a service technician diagnose the problem, to troubleshoot it and see which component is causing the problem.

Gray background is often caused by old/bad developer. Replacing the developer and developer filter, and cleaning out the developer unit, will likely fix that problem. If you are getting dark background on the back side of the page as well, the transfer unit may also need to be cleaned and rebuilt.
