HP Deskjet 970C test page

To print a self-test/configuration page from a Deskjet 970C (which is just several lines of text, including the printer's page count, firmware version, and other data):

- Make sure the printer is on and ready (no paper jams or other errors)
- Hold down the Power button
- Press the Form Feed button four times
- Let go of the Power button

It may take a minute, but the self-test/configuration page will print out.

HP LaserJet 1022 demo page

On the LaserJet 1022, you can print out a demo page just by holding down the Go button.  This demo page is a good way to test print quality or paper feed issues.

If you'd rather print out a configuration page, which contains the printer's page count and other information, hold the Go button down for about four or five seconds -- until the green light starts blinking -- then release it.

Xerox DocuColor 242 page count

To see the page count (impressions) on screen for the DocuColor 242:

- Press the Machine Status button.
- Touch the Billing Meter/Print Report tab on the screen.
- Touch the box next to Billing Meter.

The total impressions will be displayed, as well as the color impressions and black and white impressions.

Brother IntelliFax 2910 / IntelliFax 2920 user settings list

Brother fax machines print out a user settings list rather than a configuration page.  This list displays many of the machine's settings, but it also shows you the page counts (total page count, print page count, copy page count, and fax page count) as well as how much life is left in the drum cartridge.  To print out a user settings list from an IntelliFax 2910 or 2920:

- Press the Reports button.
- Press 5 for User Settings.

Brother IntelliFax 2910 / IntelliFax 2920 page count

The IntelliFax 2910 and 2920, unlike some other models in this series, has the capability to display the fax machine's total page count right on the display screen.  To view the page count:

- Press the Menu/Set button.
- Press 4 for Machine Info.
- Press 2 for Page Counter.

Xerox ColorQube 8870 configuration page

The configuration page for the ColorQube 8870 is actually two pages long.  It includes detailed network information, installed options and accessories, firmware version, total page count, and much more.  To print the configuration page:

- Scroll down until "Information" is the highlighted option on the screen.
- Press OK.
- Scroll down until "Information Pages" is the highlighted option.
- Press OK.
- Scroll down until "Configuration Page" is the highlighted option.
- Press OK.

Xerox ColorQube 8870 page count

The ColorQube 8870 gives you the ability to view the printer's page count (expressed as "impressions" rather than pages) right from the display screen.  To see the total counter:

- Scroll down until "Information" is the highlighted choice.
- Press the OK button.
- Scroll down until "Billing Meters" is the highlighted choices.
- Press OK.
- Scroll all the way down.

At the bottom of this screen, "Total Impressions" will be displayed, followed by "Color Impressions" and "Black Impressions."

HP LaserJet 1022 configuration page

On the LaserJet 1022 and 1022n, you can print out a self test/configuration page which gives a lot of information about the printer, including network settings, available memory, page count, and much more.  To print the configuration page, hold down the Go button (the button with the green diamond on it) for about four or five seconds.  Once the green LED starts flashing, let go of the button and the configuration page will print out.

If you let go of the Go button before the LED begins to blink, a demo page will print out instead.  This page just describes the printer's features and capabilities; it does not give any information specific to your printer.

HP Officejet 7410 self-test report

On the Officejet 7410 you can print out a self-test report that is good for checking color density and alignment, but also gives you the printer's total page count.  To print the self-test report:

- Press the Setup button.
- Press 2 for Print Report.
- Press 5 for Self-Test Report.

Samsung ML-1740

The Samsung ML-1740 can print out a test page that lists many of the printer's specs.  Toward the bottom, this test page also gives the printer's page count, firmware version, and serial number.

To print the test page, hold down the silver Cancel button on top of the printer for two or three seconds, until the LEDs start to blink.  Release the button and the test page will print out.

Canon BJC-4300 status page

On the Canon BJC-4300, you can print out a status page right from the printer.  To do so, first turn the printer off.  Then, hold down the power button.  The printer will turn on and begin to beep.  Once you hear it beep twice, release the power button.  The status page will print out.

Dell 5310n configuration page

Like many Dell and Lexmark printers, the 5310n prints out an extensive configuration page that gives a lot of detail about how the machine is configured.  This configuration page is actually two pages long, and it includes network settings, toner level, installed options, and page count.

To print the configuration page:

- Press the Menu button
- Use the down arrow to scroll down to "Reports"
- Press the OK button (the button in the center of the arrows, with the check mark on it)
- Scroll down to "Menu Settings Page"
- Press OK

If you are only looking for network configuration info, you can choose "Network Setup Page" instead of "Menu Settings Page" from the Reports menu.

Sharp FO-DC525 optional setting list

On the FO-DC525 fax machine, you can print out an optional setting list which gives an overview of how the machine is configured.  The setting list includes the phone number and department or location name, as well as information like the default resolution, number of rings, dial mode, and print hold setting.  To print the optional setting list:

- Press the Menu button.
- Press 2 for Listing Mode.
- Press 05 for Optional Setting List.

HP Color LaserJet 4700 usage page

In addition to the configuration page and supplies status page, the Color LaserJet 4700 gives you the option to print out a usage page.  The usage page shows the printer's total page count, like the configuration page does, but it also breaks down the page count by paper tray and paper type.  To print a usage page:

- Press the down arrow to go into the main menu.
- Keep pressing the down arrow until "INFORMATION" is the highlighted option on the screen.
- Press Select (the green button with the check mark) to choose that option.
- Press the down arrow until "PRINT USAGE PAGE" is the highlighted option.
- Press Select.

How to print a demo page on an HP printer

Some HP color printers (and a few black and white ones) give you the option to print a demo page.  This page typically includes a bright, densely-colored image, along with some text, which can be useful for troubleshooting image quality problems.  To get demo page instructions for the models listed below, click on the link for that model.

How to print a demo page on an HP Color LaserJet 3600

The demo page on a Color LaserJet 3600 has a bright picture with lots of reds, oranges, and yellows, along with the HP logo in black and the name of the printer.  To print this demo page:

- Press the down arrow to bring up the menu, and keep pressing it until "INFORMATION" is the active choice.
- Press Select (the green button with the black check mark).
- Press the down arrow until "PRINT DEMO" is the active choice.
- Press Select again.

Sharp UX-A1000 setup list

Like many small fax machines, the UX-A1000 doesn't offer much in the way of a configuration page.  What you can print is a setup list, which gives an overview of the machine's settings but doesn't include a page count.  One nice feature of this setup list is that it shows you exactly what the fax header will look like, under the Entry Mode section.

To print the setup list from a UX-A1000:

- Press the Function button.
- Press the down arrow button until "Listing Mode" is displayed on the screen.
- Press the right arrow button to select it.
- Press the down arrow button until "Setup List" is displayed.
- Press the right arrow button.

HP Deskjet 6940

To print a test page on the Deskjet 6940 -- which shows the printer's page count, serial number, and recent error codes -- hold down the Power button (while the printer is on), then press the Resume button (the button with the downward arrow on it) four times, then release the Power button.  The test page will begin printing out.

Muratec F-300

On the Muratec F-300 fax machine, the closest thing to a configuration page is the machine settings list.  This list gives a breakdown of how the machine is configured, as well as the total page count for both printed pages and scanned pages.  To print the machine settings list:

- Press Menu.
- Scroll down until "5 Print" is displayed.
- Press Enter.
- "1 List Print" will be displayed -- press Enter again.
- Scroll down so that "02 Machine Settings" is displayed.
- Press Enter.

HP Business Inkjet 2800 configuration page

The configuration page from a Business Inkjet 2800 printer gives a lot of information about the device.  You can see the total page count (as well as the count for each paper tray), the status of each ink cartridge, the status of each printhead, and a description of recent events that the printer logged.

To print the config page:

- Press the down arrow button to go into the menu.  "INFORMATION" should be displayed.
- Press the Select button (the button with the check mark on it).
- Press the down arrow until "CONFIGURATION PAGE" is displayed on the screen.
- Press Select again to print the configuration page.

HP LaserJet 9050 supplies status page

To print a supplies status page (which will show you how much toner is left in the cartridge) on a LaserJet 9050:

- Press the down arrow button until "INFORMATION" is the highlighted option.
- Press the Select button (the green button with the check mark).
- Press the down arrow until "PRINT SUPPLIES STATUS" is the highlighted option.
- Press Select.

The configuration page (also called self test page) for a Deskjet 5150 doesn't have a lot of information, but it useful.  It shows the printer's serial number, firmware version, and page count.  To print the self test page:

- Hold down the Power button (on the right front side of the printer).
- Press the Resume button (the button with the down arrow on it) four times in a row.
- Release the Power button.

On the LaserJet 5 or 5N, the configuration page is dubbed the "self test page."  (You can still find the printer's page count on it.)  To print a self test page:

- Press the Menu button until "TEST MENU" is displayed on the screen.
- Press the Item button until "PRINT SELF TEST" is displayed on the screen.
- Press the Enter button.  The self test page will begin printing.

Canon FaxPhone L80

On the FaxPhone L80, you can print out a user data list that gives a breakdown of the machine's configuration, including transmission report settings, ringer settings, and error correction settings.  The user data list (which is two pages long) also displays the phone number, date, time, and amount of memory the fax machine has.  To print the user data list:

- Press the Function button.
- Press the Report button (also labeled 14).
- Scroll down through the report options until "USER DATA LIST" is displayed on the screen.
- Press the Set button.
